It began with books: paging through them, absorbing them even before I could actually read. They became my touchstones to everything. Words made
images in my mind's eye, but I could also draw images that provoked or
superseded words. There is an appetite for meaning here where all things
exist in context with all else, where visualizing is, at least for me, a co-literacy,
like a bi-valve heart that pumps metaphors instead of blood and breath.
